Imagine Dragons, Lil Wayne play halftime show at College Football Playoff National Championship game

January 8, 2019

Whether you loved hearing the song “Natural” pumped through every TV promo for college football this year or got sick of it quick, brace yourselves for Monday night’s halftime show.

The band Imagine Dragons, the group behind “Natural” and other chart-topping rock songs, is playing the halftime show at Monday’s College Football Playoff National Championship game between Alabama and Clemson. Rapper Lil Wayne will be a featured guest.

The folks behind the championship game are heavily promoting Imagine Dragons, just as they did all season by making “Natural” the so-called anthem of the college football season.

Imagine Dragons also played a song live on the ice in Las Vegas before Game 2 of the 2018 Stanley Cup Final between the Washington Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights.

Both Imagine Dragons and Lil Wayne are Grammy Award winners, but Lil Wayne has had the much longer, more illustrious career. He released his latest album, “Tha Carter V,” last September.

As some football fans may be getting sick of watching Alabama square off with some other Southeast-based powerhouse year after year, they’re turning to the halftime show as the night’s primary means of entertainment, not unlike many millions of wives and girlfriends during each Super Bowl.
