Fairbury arrest on multiple warrants after foot chase
On June 29, 2018, a deputy with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office was conducting a residence check located at the address of 1025 Bacon Road in Fairbury, Nebraska..
Upon checking the residence, the deputy made contact with a male subject who was identified as Raymond E. Scott Sr., 62. The deputy had knowledge that there were currently active warrants out of Jefferson, Gage and Lancaster Counties for Scott and he was advised of this. Upon hearing this, Scott fled on foot toward the back part of the residence. Scott threw a two-by-four board at the Deputy in his attempt to escape and a brief struggle ensued.
Scott then got away from the deputy and a foot pursuit ensued outside the residence into the backyard of the residence, where Scott ended the chase and gave himself up to the deputy. Raymond E. Scott was arrested for the above listed warrants as well as third degree assault on a police officer, a class 3A felony, resisting Arrest, a class 3A felony, and obstructing government operations, a class I misdemeanor. The deputy suffered minor injuries during the altercation. Scott is being housed at the Department of Corrections awaiting court proceedings.
