State Supreme Court to meet in Senate chambers next week

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The New Hampshire Supreme Court is temporarily returning to its original home as part of the celebration of the Statehouse’s bicentennial.

When the Statehouse opened in 1819, the Senate chamber was shared with the Supreme Court. To mark that history, the court will hold oral arguments in the newly-renovated Senate chamber on Jan. 8.

The renovation project included replacing ceiling tiles, carpet and windows, restoring historic murals, painting the walls and updating the electrical system.
