Akron teen shot multiple times, police say

AKRON, Ohio — A 16-year-old male was shot multiple times Sunday afternoon while walking down a street by the Akron Zoo, police say.

The unidentified teen was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital with wounds in the buttocks and right thigh.

Police say the teen was walking at 2:30 p.m. along the 600 block of Edgewood Avenue, which is on the eastern edge of the zoo, when he was shot.

Investigators were not given a description of a suspect.
