Praise in the Park fest hits Pioneer Park on Saturday
KANKAKEE — Kids will have the chance to get free school supplies and their hair done this Saturday at Pioneer Park.
The Praise in the Park Festival, formerly known as the Love & Unity Fest, will take place from noon-7 p.m. It will feature a mix of food, entertainment and vendors that will give away free school supplies.
A braidathon will kick off at the park starting at 7 a.m. Volunteers will braid hair for about 100 girls for free. Braidathon recipients must register online in advance at https://bit.ly/2KSDq80.
The festival, which is sponsored by Kingdom Life Center and Uplift, will have a 50-50 drawing that will benefit SaVannah Rowe, a 3-year-old battling brain cancer.
