Man kidnapped outside Cleveland bar, stripped, pistol-whipped and shot, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio — A 32-year-old man was kidnapped outside a Cleveland bar, stripped naked, pistol-whipped and driven to an abandoned home where he was shot twice in the head, police say.

The incident happened about 11:40 p.m. Thursday. The man told police he walked outside Cheers bar on East 93rd Street in the city’s Union-Miles neighborhood.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Two men walked up to him outside the bar and one put a gun to the lower part of his back, according to police reports.

The gunman forced the 32-year-old man the front part of his Chevy Malibu, wedged between the driver and the gunman, according to police reports.

The gunman repeatedly pistol-whipped the man in the head as they drove him to an abandoned home on East 65th Street near Bessemer Avenue, according to police reports.

The duo forced the man to strip naked and forced him out of the car, according to police reports. They forced him into the backyard of an abandoned home and ordered him to the ground. The two men then demanded that he “give it up,” according to police reports.

The gunman hit the man several times while he was lying on his stomach. He fired two shots, hitting the man twice in the back of the head, according to police reports.

The man eventually ran naked toward East 79th Street. Officers found him naked and bleeding from his head. An ambulance took him to University Hospitals, where he was treated for the gunshot wounds.
