October 10, 2018

WINSTON — Douglas’ boys soccer team avenged a loss earlier this season by defeating Glide, 2-0, in Monday’s Class 3A/2A/1A Special District 4 game.

The two teams faced each other earlier this season when the Wildcats (5-4, 5-4 SD4) got a 2-1 victory at home.

The Trojans (3-5-1, 3-5-1 SD4) scored in the 45th minute and the 73rd minute.

Riley Kerr found the back of the net in the 45th minute with an assist from Joshua Hanson. Dante Cook scored the final goal for Douglas.

Douglas coach Axel Jung praised the defensive line for having a good game and said Fernando Valle and Reid Gislason were powerhouses for the Trojans’ defense.

Douglas will host Umpqua Valley Christian on Thursday. Glide will play at Brookings-Harbor next Monday.
