Ex-Utah rugby player begins sentence for sex offense
CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — A former Southern Utah University rugby player accused of raping a woman is starting a 180-day jail sentence.
Aaron Price will serve the sentence in the Iron County Jail on weekends after pleading guilty in November to reduced charges of attempted forcible sexual assault.
The 21-year-old Price was initially charged with first-degree felony rape after his arrest in April 2013.
Price at the time played for the Southern Utah rugby team, a student club recognized by the United States of America Rugby Football Union.

Price was also ordered to register as a sex offender and pay restitution.
According to court documents, a woman reported to police she was raped near Southern Utah’s campus.
