Oduro Leads Fitchburg at District Meet

FITCHBURG -- It was a great day for the Fitchburg High School boys’ and girls’

track teams at Saturday’s 41st annual Gerry Frew Division 1 District E Championship at Fitchburg High.

Leading the Red Raider boys, senior Evans Oduro won the 55-meter hurdles in a career-best time of 7.99 seconds, setting a facility record for the event.

For the Fitchburg girls, junior Wonuola Ashaju placed fourth in the 300 meters at 44.52 seconds, and senior Emerson Scott was fifth in the 55-meter hurdles in 9.14 seconds. The 4x220-yard relay team of Olamide Bamgbose, Ashaju, Emerson Scott and Elle Scott) was fourth at 1:54.82.

Finishing seventh for Fitchburg were Elle Scott (300, 45.36) and Lina Kherallah (1,000, 3:32.81). Olivia Tran was 10th in the 1,000 at 3:39.10; Bamgbose placed 13th in the 55 dash (8.18) and 15th in the shot put (26 feet, 8.75 inches); Lainey Jaramillo was 16th in the 55 hurdles (10.57); and Aria DiCato placed 26th in the 55 dash (9.25).
