University of North Dakota student leader faces theft charge
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The treasurer of the University of North Dakota Student Government is accused of embezzling from a fraternity.
Chase Johnson of Fargo faces a felony theft charge for allegedly stealing between $10,000 and $50,000 from the Phi Delta Theta fraternity, where he also had served as treasurer.
Johnson’s attorney didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. Johnson could enter a plea at an April 4 hearing. The charge against him carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
