Woman allegedly tries to bite, spit at officers

IRONTON — The following information was compiled from Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office reports:

HARASSMENT WITH BODILY SUBSTANCES: Crystal G. Lewis, 36, of South 10th Street, Ironton, was charged with two felony counts of harassment with bodily substance and disorderly conduct when she tried to bite officers and spit in their face inside the Lawrence County Jail.

DRUG POSSESSION: Following a traffic stop, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Angela D. Spurlock, 45, of Township Road 1026, South Point, on a charge of possession of heroin and transported her to the Lawrence County Jail.

POSSESSION OF HEROIN: Following a traffic stop, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Antonio R. Butler, 27County Road 1, South Point, and Michelle L. Ross, 44, also of South Point on charges of possession of heroin. Butler also was charged with possession of drugs. Both were transported to jail.

DRUG POSSESSION: Following a traffic stop, a sheriff’s deputy arrested Barry Thomas Hempill, 26, of Pinehurst, North Carolina, on charges of possession of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and possessing drug abuse instruments and transported him to jail.

THEFT: A 30-year-old Kitts Hill man reported Sunday that someone stole his 2009 black Chevy Suburban from his property in the Kitts Hill area.

BURGLARY: A 37-year-old Pedro area woman reported Tuesday that someone used a crowbar to break out a window at her house.

Nothing was reported missing. A 28-year-old Kitts Hill area man also reported someone broke out the glass to his front door, but again nothing seemed to be missing.

ASSAULT ON A PEACE OFFICER: An inmate at the Lawrence County Jail, Brian K. Petrie, 32, of Vinton, Ohio, was charged last week with assault on a peace officer by assaulting a deputy jailer.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A Pedro area woman reported Monday that her husband was drunk and pushed her down, hurting her back.

When authorities arrived, he assaulted a sheriff’s deputy. The 37-year-old man was charged with domestic violence, assault and resisting arrest and transported to jail.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE: A 58-year-old South Point area woman reported Sunday that her husband was drinking and pushed her to the ground twice. A sheriff’s deputy arrested a 56-year-old South Point area man on a charge of domestic violence and transported him to jail.
