Hearing on Crestone Peak Drilling Plan Delayed Again

April 3, 2019

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission on Wednesday again delayed a hearing on a Crestone Peak Resources plan to drill more than 100 wells north of Erie that was set for later this month.

A Boulder County news release said commission Director Jeff Robbins announced the April 29-30 hearing on the company’s comprehensive drilling plan would be postponed until effects of a sweeping extraction industry reform bill sent to Gov. Jared Polis’ desk Wednesday are understood and implemented.

An April 9 special public comment session for people to address the commission on Crestone’s proposed project has also been canceled.

The state Senate gave final passage of the drilling reform bill with amendments made in the house that industry leaders said were positive, although they still oppose the proposed law.
