Ilona ‘Lona’ R. Dehnert

FORT ATKINSON -- Ilona “Lona” R. Dehnert, 64, Fort Atkinson, formerly of Lake Mills, died on Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at Alden Estates of Jefferson following a courageous battle with cancer with her family by her side.

She was born on May 11, 1954, in Watertown, the daughter of the late Donald “Mickey” and Nancy (Porubsky) Dehnert.

She was a graduate of Waterloo High School, class of 1974. Lona had been employed by Opportunities, Inc.

She was a member of the Lake Mills Moravian Church and enjoyed volunteering at the Fort Atkinson Hospital coffee shop. In her spare time she liked to do crafting, listen to music, dance or cheer for her Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include her siblings, Richard (Kathy) of Fort Atkinson, Steven (Patty), Lynnell (Bill) Austin, all of Lake Mills, Lisa (Tom Hensel) Larson of Cambridge; 10 nieces and nephews; 10 great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Jodi Riddle of Lake Mills.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Lake Mills Moravian Church with the Rev. David Sobek officiating. Friends may call after 10 a.m. on Friday at the church until the time of service.
