Knoblauch To Have Elbow Examined
BALTIMORE (AP) _ New York Yankees second baseman Chuck Knoblauch will travel to New York on Wednesday to have his right elbow examined by team doctors.
Knoblauch was held out of Tuesday’s game against the Baltimore Orioles, even though he has a career .500 batting average against Baltimore starter Scott Erickson.
``It’s been a weird year,″ Knoblauch said. ``I’ve never had an elbow injury.″
Knoblauch hurt his elbow Monday night while making a double-play relay throw in the fourth inning of the Yankees’ 4-3 victory over the Orioles. He played two more innings before being replaced.
