BHC’s Boom Box Parade & Winter Festival Dec. 7-8
BULLHEAD CITY — Harry Potter and Charlie Brown meet on Dec. 7 when the Boom Box Parade and Winter Festival merge to provide one of the Tri-state’s largest holiday celebrations.
The Boom Box Parade, conducted by the Colorado River Women’s Council, will start at 6 p.m. on Dec. 7, beginning in the area of Langford Drive and Hancock Road. The two-mile parade route goes east on Hancock to Trane Road, south on Trane to Alona’s Way in the Bullhead City Administration Complex and culminating at Gary Keith Civic Center Park.
The theme for the 20th edition of the Boom Box Parade is “Celebrating 20 Years with Harry Potter Christmas.” The underlying theme for the event is Spirit of Giving.
Longtime area volunteer Karole Finkelstein will serve as Boom Master -- the parade’s version of grand marshal.
Entry information is available at www.ColoradoRiverWomensCouncil.info/boom-box-parade.
Immediately following the parade, Bullhead City’s Winter Festival will begin at Riverview Mall. This year’s theme is “A Charlie Brown Christmas.”
It’s not clear if Snoopy and the Red Baron will fly in for the occasion, but it’s a good bet that Santa Claus will.
There will be entertainment, photo opportunities with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies, hot dogs, a vendor village and other activities, including the lighting of the community Christmas tree.
Winter Fest will continue from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 8.
Organizers are seeking volunteer talent for the event -- choirs, bands and other entertainers.
