Ball: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP) _ Ball Corp. (BLL) on Thursday reported second-quarter earnings of $197 million.
On a per-share basis, the Broomfield, Colorado-based company said it had profit of 58 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 64 cents per share.
The results did not meet Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 65 cents per share.
The metal packaging company posted revenue of $3.02 billion in the period, which also fell short of Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.03 billion.
Ball shares have increased 55% since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 19%. The stock has increased 83% in the last 12 months.
