NEVADA EXECUTION

RENO, Nev. _ Nevada prison officials say death row inmate Scott Dozier has gone to great lengths to try to kill himself while awaiting execution, including attempting to obtain a fatal drop of a deadly drug on a piece of paper sent through prison mail. They say they also intercepted mail from the convicted killer’s sister with instructions how to cut the jugular vein in his neck and that he turned over razor blades he somehow had secured behind bars. TRUMP-BUMP STOCKS

WASHINGTON — The Trump administration is moving to officially ban bump stocks, which allow semi-automatic weapons to fire rapidly like automatic firearms. The devices became a focal point in the national gun control debate after they were used in October 2017 when gunman Stephen Paddock rained a hail of bullets from his 32nd-floor Las Vegas hotel room, killing 58 people at a concert.
