Coyotes beef up front office staff with pair of hires
GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Coyotes have hired John Chayka as assistant general manager of analytics and promoted Chris O’Hearn to assistant general manager of hockey operations.
Arizona also announced Monday that senior vice president and assistant general manager Darcy Regier will serve as general manager of the team’s new AHL affiliate, the Springfield Falcons.
The 25-year-old Chayka co-founded and served as director of hockey operations of Stathletes Inc., a hockey analytics firm that started in 2009. He will be involved in all areas of hockey operations, including NHL, minor league and amateur player evaluation.
O’Hearn has spent eight seasons in the Coyotes organization and has been a part of its hockey operations management team. He will be responsible for player contracts, scheduling, salary arbitration, salary cap management and player evaluation.
