UTAH REDISTRICTING INITIATIVE
SALT LAKE CITY — Organizers of a Utah ballot initiative that would create a new system for drawing the state’s legislative and congressional districts raised $860,000 this year, including large donations from a former Democratic gubernatorial candidate and a national pollical advocacy group but has already most of it to gather signatures to get the measure on the ballot. GALLUP TOURISM BOOM
GALLUP, N.M. — A western New Mexico city surrounded by Navajo culture and Native arts and crafts is experiencing a tourism boom not seen since the 1970s. The Gallup Independent reports officials in Gallup, New Mexico, says the city has seen an increase of around 7 to 10 percent in visitors thanks to foreign tourists. SENT: 130 words.
