EARNS-ELI LILLY

INDIANAPOLIS _ Shares of Eli Lilly are sliding before the opening bell after the drugmaker announced fourth-quarter earnings that missed Wall Street expectations and it trimmed its forecast for 2019. Lilly said Wednesday that it revised its outlook due to the recently announced failure of the cancer treatment Lartruvo. Lilly announced last month that it would spend about $8 billion in cash to buy Loxo Oncology, as the drugmaker bulks up on cancer treatments that target certain gene abnormalities. —XGR--INDIANA ELECTION CANDIDATES: Smaller political parties would face lower requirements to get their candidates on Indiana’s ballot under a bill backed by a legislative panel.

—DEEP FREEZE-FROZEN GREENHOUSE: Last week’s deep freeze took a bite out of a northern Indiana botanical society’s collection of carnivorous plants.

—EMERGENCY HIGHWAY FUNDS-INDIANA: The Federal Highway Administration says Indiana will receive nearly $6.2 million in emergency relief funds to repair roads and bridges damaged by severe storms and flooding.
