Don’t miss this year’s Boat Parade of Lights
As soon as the sun sets on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, the 36th annual Boat Parade of Lights will begin to glide through Bridgewater Channel. Attendance is free and there’s not a bad seat in the house.
Crowd favorites will return, including the fleet of sailboats, the Boat Brokers’ Santa and his reindeer and “Tiny Toot.” London Bridge Yacht Club Commodore Tammy Kastelz estimated there will be about 40 entries in all.
The boats cruise through the Channel at 6:30 p.m., entering from Thompson Bay and continuing under the London Bridge to the north end of the Channel. They form a circle off Windsor Beach and return for a final pass through the Channel before disappearing back into Thompson Bay.
Winning entries will be announced at a 10 a.m. brunch on Sunday at the London Bridge Resort. The theme for 2019’s Boat Parade of Lights will be decided during the brunch.
Tickets to the brunch are $15. Those who entered boats in the parade received two tickets to the brunch as part of their $25 parade entry fee.
