Ex-coach accused of molesting boys since ’80s pleads guilty

November 28, 2018

MARIETTA, Ga. (AP) — A former wrestling coach accused of molesting teenage boys since the 1980s has admitted to sexually abusing a Pennsylvania boy at his Georgia home.

News outlets report Ronald Gorman was sentenced to 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of aggravated child molestation Tuesday. Gorman had also previously admitted to sexually assaulting two boys in Pennsylvania and was sentenced there to serve at least 20 years in prison. The sentences will run concurrently.

Prosecutor Chuck Boring says Gorman’s Cobb County charges stem from bringing a 14-year-old from Pennsylvania and abusing him at his Marietta home. Boring says no charges were filed until a parent started asking questions and persuaded state police in Pennsylvania to open an investigation.

Boring says there may be additional victims who haven’t come forward.
