May 11, 2019

Rochester police were called early Thursday to Second Street Southwest, where a man was reported to be throwing items off the roof of a building.

Officers arrived at 1:44 a.m. at the Rainbow Inn, 1217 Second St. SW, to find a man on the roof, said Rochester Police Capt. Casey Moilanen. The suspect, identified as a 29-year-old from Florida, was removing heating and air-conditioning parts from the roof and throwing them on the sidewalk and street.

Charges are pending while authorities await damage estimates from the owner of the property, Moilanen said.
