2 more arrested in connection with New Bedford shooting
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Two more people are facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting in New Bedford on New Year’s Eve.
Aaron Bookman was held on $50,000 bail after pleading not guilty Thursday to charges of obstruction of justice and witness intimidation in connection with the Dec. 31 shooting death of Aaron Gant Jr.
Bookman’s attorney asked for $1,000 bail.
Angel Acevedo is scheduled to be arraigned Friday on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact in Gant’s death. It’s now known if he has a lawyer.
Three other people have already been arraigned on charges of obstruction of justice or misleading investigators.
Prosecutors have not disclosed a possible motive.
