Fort Wayne man ID’d in parking lot shooting

A 40-year old Fort Wayne man has been identified by the Allen County coroner’s office as the victim of a shooting in the parking lot of the American Legion, 705 E. Lewis St., shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday, the coroner’s office said today.

Michael Ternell Carter died from a gunshot wound or wounds and his death has been ruled a homicide, the coroner’s office said in a statement after an autopsy.

Carter is the 28th homicide victim in Allen County in 2018.
