Police release sketches of suspect in killing at rap concert
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. (AP) — Authorities have released sketches of a possible suspect in the fatal shooting of a man backstage at a rap concert in Silicon Valley.
Eric Johnson was shot several times Aug. 22 at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View where rappers Wiz Khalifa and Young Jeezy performed. The 38-year-old died at a hospital.
Mountain View police Sgt. Saul Jaeger says the sketches of a possible suspect — one with hair and one without — were released Tuesday and authorities are asking the public to help identify him.
However, investigators couldn’t provide a detailed description of the man.
Police investigating Johnson’s death arrested the platinum-selling Young Jeezy on a weapons charge after finding an AK-47 at another California venue. The charge was dismissed after prosecutors said there wasn’t enough evidence. He was never a suspect in the killing.
