‘Who’s Under Where?’ a cheeky farce
A raunchy new comedy has come to the Mountain Playhouse with “Who’s Under Where?”
This cheeky farce tickled the audience with joke after joke and had many shocked into laughter throughout.
In “Who’s Under Where,” burgeoning businesswomen Jane Pritchard (Ashley Puckett Gonzales) and Sybil Brunt (Lisa Riegel) have hired male models to show their line of men’s underwear to a potential business partner, Bruno Fruferelli (Frederic Heringes).
Their idiotic husbands, Paul Pritchard (Martin Landry) and George Brunt (Laurence Lau), make a terrible mess of the situation when they come to investigate, thinking their wives are cheating on them.
After getting rid of male model Sebastian (J.D. Daw), they have to find a way to show off the products themselves.
This two-act play is full of thrusting, innuendo and cross-dressing. Those who enjoy this type of comedy without being easily offended will be doubled over in their seats when Landry and Lau appear in full makeup and lingerie, and then when Lau’s loincloth is torn away to reveal a pair of small, shiny underwear.
Landry is especially hilarious — as he has been in many Mountain Playhouse performances — as he is being chased and felt up by the lustful security guard Roger “Rodge” Hodge (David Garwood). “Who’s Under Where?” continues through Sunday. The Mountain Playhouse’s next play will be “The Affections of May” Aug. 12-26.
