1 person confirmed dead in Westfield house fire
WESTFIELD, Mass. (AP) — One person is confirmed dead in a house fire in Westfield.
Fire Capt. Paul Lentini says the blaze in the single-family home on Mill Street was reported at about 8 p.m. Wednesday.
He tells WWLP-TV that the fire started on the second floor, but the victim was found on the first floor.
One report says the victim was found under debris.
The cause remains under investigation with the help of the state Fire Marshal’s office.
The victim is believed to be the home’s only occupant. No name was released pending notification of family.
