Ludington City Council hires new assessor
The Ludington City Council Monday evening hired a new city assessor.
Jared Litwiller, of Ludington, was sworn into his new role as a part-time employee of the city immediately following city council’s regular public meeting at City Hall.
“It’s a great opportunity. I’m looking forward to working in the area,” Litwiller said.
Ludington Interim City Manager Steve Brock recommended hiring Litwiller. He said three candidates were interviewed for the position.
“We went through a comprehensive process,” Brock said. “Both of the other two qualified as well, but we felt like this was the best fit for the community. (Litwiller) happens to be a local resident as well. I’m always in favor of spending locally if we can do that.”
