The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in Cascade Township on a warrant early Saturday morning.
Thomas James Horton Jr., 31, was arrested around 2 a.m. in the area of 55th Street Northwest and Kings Run Drive Northwest after sheriff’s deputies stopped the car he was riding in for speeding, according to Capt. Scott Behrns.
Following the stop, the deputy recognized Horton and arrested him on a Department of Corrections warrant, Behrns said. Horton was taken to the Adult Detention Center.
Deputies were called to the jail a short time later by staff after they allegedly found 4.33 grams of suspected methamphetamines in Horton’s underpants, Behrns said.
In addition to the warrant, Horton could be facing charges of fifth-degree possession.
