May 11, 2019

PLAINS TWP. — A township man is facing felony child endangerment charges after police said he left two young children alone. Muhammed Jah, 34, is accused of leaving his children, ages 1 and 4, alone at 22 E. Bergh St. Officers conducting a welfare check around 11:30 p.m. Thursday found the children inside the home without an adult present, police said. While on scene, police saw a vehicle parked nearby waiting with the headlights turned off. Police approached the driver, Jah, who admitted he was the children’s father. The children were released to their mother and Jah was charged with two felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail. — JAMES HALPIN
