LOS ANGELES (AP) _ An employee of the Carnation Co. shot two co-workers during a dispute in the mail room Thursday, then killed himself, police said.

The gunman, Allen Escalera, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene, said police Sgt. Wayne Horton.

Escalera had been arguing with the co-workers in the mail room in the basement of the company's headquarters before the shooting occurred about 12:15 p.m.

After shooting the co-workers, Escalera turned the gun on himself, Horton said. The nature of the dispute and Escalera's occupation were not immediately known.

Albert Ibbotson, 24, was shot in the chest, and Jose Lopez, 23, was wounded in the left thigh. Both were listed in stable condition at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, said hospital spokeswoman Paula Correia.
