Changes to planned development will bring more housing
NORFOLK - A housing subdivision was amended at the Norfolk City Council meeting Monday night.
Paul Brungardt spoke on behalf of the request and told council members the change is being sought for the Amberwood Subdivision Planned Development located a half mile south from the intersection of East Norfolk Avenue and South Victory Road.
Brungardt said the south portion of the redevelopment area was sold to Dana Point Development.
“What Dana Point is planning to do is take the little over 21 acres of undeveloped ground from Amberwood Subdivision, which is south of the Amberwood apartments and redevelop that into two phases. The first phase will include 23 duplexes that’ll be right across the south border of the current apartment complexes and to the east side.”
Brungardt said the second phase includes some single family housing.
The council voted unanimously to approve the changes with Councilmen Gary Jackson and Thad Murren absent.
