Royals, Angels to Play Doubleheader
ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ The Kansas City Royals and Anaheim Angels will make up their postponed game of last weekend this Saturday at Edison International Field as part of a twi-night doubleheader.
The game between the teams scheduled last Saturday at Kauffman Stadium was postponed by rain, and the teams were to play a doubleheader the following day, but the second game was rained out.
The doubleheader begins at 4:05 p.m. (PDT). Even though the postponed game was supposed to be in Kansas City, the Angels will play as the home team. Tickets previously purchased for the originally scheduled game will be valid for both games of the doubleheader.
Several possibilities were considered to make up the game before a final decision was made Wednesday. The defending World Series champion Angels are out of contention, but the Royals entered Wednesday night’s game at Texas trailing first-place Chicago by two games in the AL Central.
