NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say a man found shot outside a cell phone store in New Bedford has died, becoming the city's first homicide victim of 2015.

Police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at a MetroPCS cell phone store at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday and found the 36-year-old man near the parking lot. He was pronounced dead at St. Luke's Hospital a short time later.

No arrests have been announced. New Bedford police are asking any witnesses to the shooting to call them.

Officials are withholding the victim's name pending notification of his family.

It's not clear what led to the shooting. New Bedford police, state police and the Bristol District Attorney's Office are investigating.
