Pakistan bowled out for 341 in 1st innings
SHARJAH, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Sri Lanka bowled out Pakistan for 341 and took an 87-run first innings lead in the decisive third test on Saturday.
Left-arm spinner Rangana Herath returned with 5-125 and fast bowler Shaminda Eranga grabbed a career-best 4-60 as Pakistan was bowled out just over an hour into the fourth day.
Resuming at 291-6 under overcast conditions, captain Misbah-ul-Haq tried to prolong the innings after Eranga’s twin strike had restricted Pakistan to 300-8.
Misbah scored 63 off 113 balls before Herath struck by having the Pakistan captain caught in the deep.
Junaid Khan reduced Sri Lanka’s lead by lofting Herath for two sixes before Dinesh Chandimal took his second catch at deep midwicket to end Pakistan innings.
Sri Lanka, which leads the series 1-0, declared at 428-9.
