Lasers 75, Xplosion 74
DENVER (AP) _ Sheri Sam’s 3-pointer broke a tie game with 1:03 remaining, and the San Jose Lasers held on to beat the Colorado Xplosion 75-74 Saturday night.
Kedra Holland-Corn had a career-high 23 points and Clarisse Machanguana added 19 for the Lasers (5-4), who bounced back from Friday’s double-overtime loss in Seattle.
Edna Campbell scored 23 points and Dana Wynne had 13 points and 13 rebounds for the Xplosion (2-5).
Campbell hit five 3-pointers, including four in the fourth quarter, as Colorado rallied from a 14-point deficit to tie the game at 72 with 1:35 left.
San Jose had gone scoreless for more than 6 minutes before Sam hit her game-winning 3-pointer as the shot clock expired.
Colorado forwards Alisa Burras and Crystal Robinson left the game with ankle injuries.
The Lasers hit 17 of 27 shots (63 percent) in the first half to open a nine-point lead but went cold after halftime, shooting just 33 percent.
