WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Authorities say a Utah police officer is recovering after being shot while off-duty and two teen boys who were also shot and may have been involved in the same incident are still in a hospital.

West Valley City police spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said Wednesday that the officer was released from a hospital after having been shot once at an apartment complex Tuesday night.

She says soon after the officer was shot, two teenagers with gunshot wounds arrived at a hospital in a car similar to one seen at the apartments.

Both teens are expected to survive.

Vainuku has not identified the officer or teens or released any details about what led to and transpired during the shooting.

She says investigators have not yet been able to interview those involved.

The Unified Police Department is investigating.
