Driver arrested after colliding with King County Metro bus
BURIEN, Wash. (AP) — A suspected drunk driver was arrested after police say he sped through a red light and hit a King County Metro bus south of Seattle in Burien.
The Seattle Times reports that around 10 people were on the bus when the crash happened Thursday night.
Sgt. Ryan Abbott with the King Co. Sheriff’s Office says one or two passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. He says the pickup driver also went to a hospital with serious injuries.
Abbott says the bus was coming down the off-ramp from SR 509 when the driver ran a red light and hit the bus. Both then hit a power pole.
Officials say prior to crashing into the bus, the pick-up driver hit a parked car in White Center.
