Bridge work set for Meyersdale
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation reports that Thornbury Inc., of West Sunbury, will implement a detour Thursday on the Beachley Street bridge rehabilitation project in Meyersdale Borough.
On Thursday Keystone Street will be closed and traffic will be diverted onto Walnut Street, Large Street and Beachley Street. The detour will be in effect until early November. Motorists should use caution when traveling through the work zone, reduce speeds, avoid distractions and pay close attention to signs and signals given by flaggers.
Overall work on the project consists of the rehabilitation of the existing structure that carries Beachley Street across Flaugherty Creek. Work will also include sidewalk and other upgrades, reconstruction of existing blacktop approaches and drainage upgrades, including new pipes and inlets.
All work on this $2.5 million project is expected to be completed by November.
