STURGIS — The Sturgis Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau announced the hiring of Veronica Grosek as its new executive director following an extensive regional and national recruitment and selection process.
“I am honored to be selected … My family has been passionate about serving the people of Sturgis for many years, so I look forward to dedicating my time and effort to further supporting our businesses and residents,” Grosek said
Grosek is currently serving as the director of Student Success at National American University in Rapid City. She has experience with not-for-profits, having served as the executive administrator for The OWN as well as the chief operations officer for the Sturgis Center for the Arts, Inc. Chamber Board President Charlie Wheeler said he is extremely pleased that Grosek accepted the offer.
“ I believe that her ability to look outside the box will bring fresh ideas that the chamber needs to succeed,” he said. “I look forward to all the things she will bring to the chamber and our members.”
Grosek will start Jan. 2.
“I am thrilled to hit the ground running in 2019 with our board of directors and staff for the benefit of the community,” she said.
Wheeler said there will be a welcome reception for Grosek from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8 at the chamber office, 2040 Junction Ave.
