Weldon ‘Dick’ Taden

Weldon “Dick” Taden, 91, of Bourbonnais, passed away Monday (March 18, 2019) at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.

He was born Oct. 23, 1927, in Crescent City, the son of Dirk and Sena Gocken Taden. Dick married Patricia A. Baron on June 11, 1949, in Ashkum. She preceded him in death Jan. 25, 2006.

Dick was a printer for UARCO in Watseka and retired after 37 years of service. He was a member of the Illiana Jazz Club. He enjoyed playing euchre and following college basketball. He loved horses and horseracing. Dick was an avid Chicago White Sox fan and University of Illinois fan.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Dick was a parishioner of Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais, where he attended Mass daily.

Surviving are his three sons, Michael and Donna Taden, of Riverside, Richard and Jill Taden, of Poplar Grove, and Steven Taden, of Bourbonnais; and his former wife, Diane, of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, Erica Lynn (Brandon) Holton, Matthew (Miranda) Taden and Mallory (Alan) Yeager; and five grandchildren, Jackson, Parker and Marshall Holton and Henry and Quinn Yeager.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one sister, Evelyn Schroeder.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 21, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 22, at Maternity B.V.M. Catholic Church in Bourbonnais. Interment will follow in Assumption Cemetery in Ashkum.

Memorials may be made for Masses.
