August 24, 2018

Lesley Banks of Dallas won a 3-minute shopping spree at Gerrity’s in Luzerne, Family Service Association of Northeastern Pennsylvania announced. Banks will run through the Gerrity’s aisles 6 a.m. Sunday. Her name was randomly chosen out of hundreds at the annual Pauly Friedman 5K Family Walk/Run on Aug. 5. She is a fifth grade teacher at the Wyoming Valley West School District. “This is a great opportunity and I’m excited to share the news with my students when school starts up next week,” Banks said. Amber Loomis, chief advancement officer of Family Service Association of NEPA, said it was a “new and fun way for us to raise the much needed funds for Help Line/211.” “We are beyond grateful to Gerrity’s for their kindness and to Lita and Leonard Insalaco who have graciously sponsored the shopping spree,” she said. Proceeds raised from the sales of the Gerrity’s shopping spree raffle tickets will benefit Help Line/2-1-1 which has provided 24/7 telephone information, referral, advocacy, and after hours crisis support for the past 46 years. Help Line/2-1-1 serves 17 counties across Northeast Pennsylvania and 85,420 callers were connected to resources last year. To learn more, visit nepa211.org — DENISE ALLABAUGH
