Woman, Maid of Honor Die in Wreck 18 Hours Before Wedding
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) _ Eighteen hours before her wedding, a woman and her maid of honor were killed when a truck collided with their car as they were leaving the rehearsal dinner.
Traci Gayle Kiser, 23, and Tracy Elizabeth Johnson, 23, were killed shortly after they left the dinner Friday night in this Dallas-Fort Worth suburb.
Miss Kiser was scheduled to marry her high school sweetheart Saturday. She and Ms. Johnson, from Dunwoody, Ga., were pronounced dead at a hospital after the 11 p.m. wreck.
Texas Rangers catcher Geno Petralli and third baseman Steve Buechele, who happened upon the accident scene, drove relatives to a hospital. Petralli called Miss Kiser’s parents at home and notified them of the wreck.
Miss Kiser’s fiance, Michael McBride of Arlington, said the couple had been planning their wedding for months.
″I feel like my whole life has been taken from me,″ McBride said Saturday. ″All the plans we made and all the dreams we had are gone. Just like that. Gone. And I’ll never have them back.″
The truck driver told police he did not see the car pull out from a restaurant until it was too late. The truck driver was not seriously hurt and has not been charged.
