Cadet Is Found Guilty of Murder
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas (AP) _ A jury found former Air Force Academy cadet David Graham guilty of capital murder Friday in the killing of a 16-year-old girl.
Graham was calm as the jury announced its verdict, which means an automatic life sentence.
Prosecutors did not seek the death penalty, partly at the request of the victim’s family.
He was accused of shooting Adrianne Jones twice in the head at a remote lake in December 1995 at the demand of his vengeful fiancee, Diane Zamora, who wrongly believed Graham and Miss Jones had a one-time sexual liaison.
Miss Zamora was convicted in February of capital murder in Miss Jones’ killing and is serving a life sentence.
