State offices to be closed Wednesday in day of mourning for Bush
AUSTIN — Texas state agencies, departments and offices will be closed Wednesday in honor of former President George H.W. Bush, who died last week at age 94. Republican Gov. Greg Abbott proclaimed the day of mourning in Texas and also ordered flags flown at half-staff.
The U.S. Postal Service is also suspending regular mail delivery Wednesday in observance of a national day of mourning.
Bush is lying in state in the nation’s Capitol, before his casket returns to Texas on Wednesday for ceremonies in Houston and College Station.
