UPCOMING:

ELECTION 2020-FRESH FACES

SOUTH BEND, Ind. _ At 36, Pete Buttigieg is just over the minimum age required to be U.S. president. Outside South Bend, Indiana, the Rust Belt community where he’s been mayor since age 29, few people know his name. None of that has deterred Buttigieg _ a Democrat, Rhodes scholar and Navy veteran known to most people as “Mayor Pete” _ from contemplating a 2020 presidential bid. Democrat Julian Castro, a 44-year-old former San Antonio mayor, is running. Yet to decide is perhaps the biggest breakout star of the midterm elections, former three-term Texas Democratic Rep. Beto O’Rourke, 46, who ran a tougher-than-expected race against Republican Sen. Ted Cruz. By Sara Burnett. SENT: 960 words, with photos.

DISNEY CRUISES-GALVESTON

GALVESTON, Texas _ A Texas location for taking cruises will have more options when it comes to choosing trips. The Galveston County Daily News reports the Disney Cruise Line plans to double the number of cruises it sails from Galveston over the next five years. Details were announced by the Port of Galveston. UPCOMING: 250 words, pursuing photos.

MUSIC-RONNIE MILSAP

NASHVILLE, Tenn. _ Country soul icon Ronnie Milsap is a studio geek who thinks a lot about music technology and recording equipment. It makes sense that he spent a long time getting 13 other singers and bands into the studio to record duets with him for a new album, “Ronnie Milsap: The Duets,” to be released Friday. His partners include Dolly Parton, Willie Nelson, ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons and Kacey Musgraves and more. Milsap played piano on Elvis Presley’s “Kentucky Rain.” Little Big Town added harmonies to his hit “Lost in the Fifties Tonight,” while George Strait has the lead on “Houston Solution.” By Kristin M. Hall. SENT: 660 words, with photos.

IN BRIEF:

_ CHURCH LOT SHOOTING _ A man suspected of shooting two women in a suburban Houston church parking lot, killing one of them, and then fleeing to a hotel has been found dead inside a room there.
