Georgia State Player Dies in Crash
ATLANTA (AP) _ Georgia State center Andre Tooks died early Wednesday of chest and head injuries after a car hit his truck while he was on his way to practice.
The car that struck Tooks on Tuesday afternoon ran a red light, police said. It was not immediately clear whether charges would be filed.
Georgia State head coach Lefty Driesell broke the news to the team Wednesday morning, assistant athletic director Charlie Taylor said.
Tooks, a 6-foot-10, 245-pound junior from Lenexa, Kan., transferred to Georgia State this summer from Fort Scott Community College in Kansas.
