Limited Chairman to Wed
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) _ The chairman of The Limited Inc., one of the nation’s wealthiest people, is engaged, the retail chain said in an announcement Thursday.
Leslie H. Wexner, 55, plans to marry Abigail S. Koppel, a 30-year-old attorney specializing in mergers and acquistions. No wedding date has been set.
Wexner founded The Limited in 1963 and since then, it has grown from a single store with annual sales of $200,000 to a nationwide chain of more than 4,200 specialty stores with 1991 sales of $6.1 billion. The company’s divisions include Victoria’s Secret, Lane Bryant, Henri Bendel, Lerner New York, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express and Cacique.
Fortune magazine estimated Wexner’s net worth at $2.5 billion in 1991.
Ms. Koppel works for the law firm of Davis Polk Wardwell. She worked in the firm’s London office from October 1988 to January 1990 and has been with its New York office since then.
The couple met three years ago in London, The Limited said. The marriage would be the first for both.
