Scottsbluff woman accused of assaulting another woman with baton
SCOTTSBLUFF — A 36-year-old woman is accused of assaulting another woman with a baton and faces charges of second-degree assault.
Elisia Gonzalez, alias Elisia Rotherham, has been charged with second-degree assault, a Class IIA felony; and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony,
The woman is accused in court documents of having assaulted a woman at a Scottsbluff convenience store on July 10. According to a court affidavit, a woman advised that Gonzalez had approached her at the store and struck her several times with a night stick, similar to a baton used by police officers. An officer says he observed that the woman had suffered a small cut on her head, which required stitches, and had other scrapes on her arms, legs, chest and face. The woman told police she believed that Gonzalez had assaulted her because her husband had contacted her on Facebook.
A warrant was issued for the Gonzalez’ arrest on July 31. She was arraigned Tuesday in Scotts Bluff County Court.
